Early Memories

Lately, I've been thinking about creative thinking. Sometimes it can be kind of tough to come up with creative, original ideas. Yesterday in Art Seminar, the speaker talked about how children are really creative, but then schools put down that creative thinking. So, I decided to try to learn a bit from my childhood self! Last night I started to write down, in a Moleskine Notebook, random childhood memories and do simple sketches for them. It's fun to realize how differently I saw things back then. I'm sure that the way I remember a lot of things happening are sometimes quite different than what actually happened. Some things may have never actually happened. Some things I may have just heard about, but I made a visual image in my head that I can't really differentiate from an actual memory anymore. Another aspect that I find interesting is how much I'm sure my memories were skewed over time. (Wow! I feel all philosophical!) Well, anyway, it's really fun. I'll need to keep it up. This is what I have so far. I'm trying to keep the visuals as accurate as I can to how I actually remember them. I hope you enjoy it! (I apologize for the spelling errors and sloppy hand writing. I hope you can read it.)
